Asian flavor oatmeal!

I woke up after 8.5 hours of sleep which makes me happy girl!!!

Today's oatmeal is a little bit different. I soaked it with chinese dates juice (just boil 10 dates in water and use only the water), goji and longan. All these are really good source of iron in chinese medicine. The inspiration of this came from The Oatmeal Experiment.
This is how it looks soaked. To prepare it, I put them in stove and adds remaining ingredients, add chopped banana. It looks watery, but actually after simmer and stir in about 5 min, it gets really creamy.

  • 1/3 cup of oatmeal (mixed multigrain and oat bran)
  • 10 gozi
  • 4-5 longan
  • 2/3 cup of dates juice
  • 1/3 cup of water (this morning)
  • 1/2 large banana
  • 1/4 egg white
I didn't add any topping because I wanted to taste the new ingredients that I put today.
It turned out to be similar than usual, just a little sweeter, but it's definitely worth trying.
Breakfast also includes a kiwi and cup of coffee, and FT.

Have a good day every one!

Hi, I saw your comment on my blog. The protein poweder probably looked like cream because I have a terrible camera so everything is usually blurry. I assure you it was a poweder. :)

Cool blog by the way!

Very interesting oatmeal. What happens to the bananas when you cook them in water? I've always been curious how this works...

Hi Juliet, chopped bananas become puree. I guess that makes the oatmeal so creamy.
