For breakfast, each one had different thing... for Dad was steamed veggie buns with soy milk
for Savanna was Tj's five grains bread with laughing cow and coffee
for me, oatmeal. today's combo was
- 1/3 oats
- 1/3 almond breeze chocolate
- 1/2 large banana
- 1 tbsp wheat berries
- 1/4 cottage cheese
- 1 tbsp raisins
coffee and an orange (no pic, I had it later)
Each of us enjoyed our delicious breakfast....
I took my Dad for a quick walk around our neighbor and then went to yoga. I wanted him to meet the place that I practice yoga and my favorite instructor Kim. I like her a lot, her style of vinyasa yoga, her personality, everything. It was "first sight love" hahaha.....I don't know, sometimes it just happens, that from the first time you meet a person, you just like him/her! Does it happen to you too?
Back home, I prepared 2 dishes and a soup (well, Savanna prepared the soup).
sauteed snow peas with soy sauce, garlic and sugar
sauteed bok-choy
the soup was pork ribs with Korean turnip.
accompanied everything with rice.
After lunch we were wondering what to do this afternoon. The weather wasn't good for a outside activity so we decided to go to cinema. I love love going to cinema. No matter what movie, if you watch it in cinema, you can enjoy it more because you focus exclusively on what is going on in the movie. The feeling of penetrating into the fictitious world, into other characters life, that sensations is amazing!!! It allows you to have more life experience, to think and wonder questions that you might never have to think in real life.
I saw Body of lies, by Leonardo Dicaprio and Russell Crowe, both of them are my favorites. I like it.
Oh....before going to cinema we baked banana muffin. Savanna likes muffins, I like baking.....so here they are.
Really simple recipe
- 1 cup flour
- 1/2 oat bran
- 1/2 sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 large banana
- 1 tbsp baking powder
We had it as afternoon snack.
Back home, my Dad said he missed my-way of preparing eggplant.....so I had to satisfy his desire. I made it with 1/2 sliced pork, 2 large eggplants, some garlic, green onions, green chili, fresh ginger, soy sauce, vinegar and sugar.
Both he and Savanna liked it a lot.... It's one of my most popular chinese dishes among friends and family.
I also stir-fry half cabbage with S+P and chili flakes.
It's winter time, so soup is necessary for a good meal. We made a simple one..... seaweed with tomatoes and 1 egg, salt, sugar and sesame oil. Really simple but delicious!
Dessert for me and Savanna. Yogurt with blueberries.
Mine
And hers

I get the yoga comment. I'm in love with my sunday yoga class instructor. It's sad that the month of november is filled with commitments so I can't make it for her classes. :(
Awesome chinese eats. Minced pork with eggplant is really good as well. My mum adds some spicy sauce to it so it has some kick.
