Day 4: a perfect rainy day! ^_^

Here in DC area we've been having rainy days for X days! I usually get upset or low when it's all gray and rainy. But yesterday was a perfect rainy day for me. I worked in pajamas all day at home and finished it with a good sweaty workout. Nothing exciting, but I enjoyed it a lot!~ How was yours? Do you like/dislike rainy days? How do you overcome the bad mood?
And following guidelines to the ChallengeS was a piece of cake! ^_^ (I need less than 21 days to get a new habit!)
Super powerful breakfast: a green monster made with celery, cucumber, carrot, apple and spinach. It made 1 huge glass and 1 coffee glass! Main course was oatmeal made with: 1/3 c. oat bran, 1/3 c. coconut milk, 1/3 c. pumpkin, 1/3 c. silken tofu, 1-2 tbsp egg white, and finishing the jar of Dark Chocolate Dream! After this gigantic breakfast, I had to wait an hour to digest it before beginning to work.
AM snack: orange eaten with folk!Super delicious lunch: salad made with greens, mix sprouts, cucumber, mushrooms, baby beets, baked tofu, WW penne, red peppers. Dressing: olive + coconut milk + balsamic. (I couldn't taste the coconut)And a turkey burger!SUPER~~~
Dessert: I opened a new jar of Peanut & Co. Cinnamon Raisin Swirl! It's tasty and smooth, but far away from Smooth Operator and Dark Chocolate Dream. Just quick Q: am I having too much PB?
The overload of food made me take 1.5 hour of lunch break. I had to have a coffee to regain consciousness to get back to work.
Snacking: a new Jelly~~~ Coconut milk jelly!!~~~
Exploring difference flavors of jelly is so fun!!!!
PM snack before going to the gym: toast with BB.mmmmm....... delish~~~
When I was in the gym for a 4 miles run and 15 min Elliptical I planned my dinner. Baked lentils with egg.... The name doesn't sound appealing, but it was AMAZING!!!Together with green beans with mustard and a gigantic corn!Dessert: black rice porridge (white fungus and dates too) with coconut jelly!~~ Can I use the work AMAZING again? sorry for my poor English, I need more vocabulary to describe food!!!

Yesterday I asked you guys where would you go for a getaway, because I was thinking about that after class ends and before my summer internship begins. But change of plan! Apparently I'm getting a new apartment and I'll be moving by then. So, no getaway but a new home!! ^_^ So excited!!! (just little background info: currently I'm sharing a two bedroom apartment with a friend. My parents are coming to visit me so I applied for a one bedroom apartment in the same community so I can still be with my friends. Bottom line: I'm going to live alone!!!) so, today's
Question: When did you begin to live alone? What are the pros and cons that you found? If you've never lived alone, would you like to? Why or why not?

Love all the eats.

I enjoyed having the chance to live only. I only did it for a year, but it was nice to be able to experience it and know that I could be independent and it was fun to decorate totally the way I wanted to decorate!

Hey! I've just found your blog and am mighty impressed.

Also, your jelly looks so good! Do you have a recipe somewhere for how you make it?

All your food looks good. I think baked lentils with egg sounds great. Not strange at all.

Also, I love the Hello Kitty spoon :-)

i agree with ccv -- no such thing as too much pb! can you come cook for me? i want some of that black rice pudding!

i've never lived alone because i just can't afford it. ny is too expensive! but ohhhhhhhhh, i dream constantly of the day when i will be able to do it.

(p.s. yes, i do speak spanish ... not fluently, but enough to get by! most of the families who use services at my agency are mexican immigrants, so i end up speaking spanish all day long sometimes)

Love the hello kitty spoon. I looked all over Taiwan for Hello kitty chopsticks and never could find one.

I lived on my own for the first time when I started law school. I absolutely loved it. Sometimes I was jealous of my friends with roommates b/c they had built-in friends. but overall I loved the solitude and privacy.

coco! what a cool day of eats, as usual :)
you know, i just RECENTLY discovered beets! i never really tried them because my mom wasn't a fan (so my mother never really tried to get me to eat it), but my goodness - they're fruity and tart and juicy and mmm! i want some beets now :) i love the color of it, too!

i've lived alone for several months when my mother took my brother to taiwan. it was really, really fun and a completely different experience as i got to live life just according to my own plans, you know? like i'd wash my own clothes, dishes, etc. it was really nice!

and omgosh - how FUN that you're moving! congratulations!

I've never lived alone! I moved out of my parents house and right in with my hubby. Looking back, I do wish I had lived alone for a little bit....just to know what it would be like!

Another day of great eats!

no way are you eating too much PB!!! eat to your heart's content!!

love the look of all your eats as usual - yours is one of those blogs i want to reach out and literally grab your food and stuff myself with it!

as for living alone, for most of the first 2 years of college i lived alone and it was great in lots of ways, and i miss it (my dad got transferred back to london last year so i moved back in with the parents). but it's also nice to have people around and not having quiet all the time :)

What a yummy salad! No such thing as too much PB!

I lived alone after living for roommates last year, and it was so much better than having roommates to worry about cleaning schedules, etc.

Working in your pajamas and finishing with a sweaty workout on a rainy day sounds perfect : )

Normally rainy days make me feel gloomy and blah, but sometimes they can be fun if you can just wear sweats and watch movies and/or read all day : )

I lived alone for about 6 months after my ex and I broke up - couple years ago. There were things I liked about it and things I didnt. I liked having privacy and not having to worry about anyone else - cleaning when I wanted too, etc. I eventually got lonely and wanted someone else to split costs with. BUT, it sounds like your friends will be in the same area, so that is perfect. good luck!

I don't like rainy days! Unless I'm sleeping, that is! I think the lack of sunshine makes me a little sad.

I've never tried an egg in my lentils, but that looks like super protein!

You are so creative in the kitchen! I want to try some of that peanut butter (raisin and cinnamon sweetened??) To answer your question about the soy milk in the coffee, it doesn't "curdle" or get chunky or anything. It actually blends in just like milk. I use light soymilk, similar to 2% regular milk. It's great.

I love coconut milk jelly! Yum. I actually prefer the cinnamon raisin over the Dark Chocolate dreams. I do love mighty maple - I'm not sure if I like MM or CR better though.

I have never really lived totally alone. I lived in a single in college, but that was just my own room in a dorm. After that I lived with Bobby in college, then when I came out to cali I lived in a house with 4 other people, and then when Bobby came out we lived together again. I like living with him! He does have a lot of clutter though :P

Oh wow, I totally want that salad! Everything looks soo good!

Yum. The coconut jelly looks great!

I began living alone after college and I'm really glad I did. It was fun being independent and having my own space. Now that I'm married, I'm glad to have had the opportunity to know what it is like to be alone and to have actually enjoyed it. :) I think you'll like it unless you love having someone around to talk to that is right there physically.
